Fall is here! Whether you live in a house, apartment or condo, it’s not too late to start preparing your home for the Fall season. It’s not just about cleaning the gutters, fall also brings out the best colors, scents and flavors which is perfect for the upcoming holidays. Listed below are 5 ways you can prepare your home for Fall.
Deep Clean
With a good playlist, this task can be an enjoyable one. Before each season it’s great to do a deep clean to ensure a clear healthy space. Fall is also a time where most people get sick so it’s great to dust, clean the gutters, windows, fireplace, oven, and get into the areas that may be overlooked during a daily clean.
Check For Repairs
This is more of a safety precaution. Be sure to check anything around your home that may need some repairing. For example; smoke detectors, thermostats, and other winter and fall equipment. Check for leaks and drafts as well.
Fall Decor
By far one of the best things about the fall season is embellishing your space with fall decor. Switch up the colors in your home; burnt sienna, beiges, browns, amber or something completely different. Personally, I like warm tones in the fall. It definitely adds to the mood. Candles, comfy fluff pillows and throw blankets are also a must!
Clean Out Your Closet
As you pack up your summer clothes, it also may be a great time to start getting rid of the clothes you haven’t worn in years. Or you may want to just switch up your style. “Out with the old, in with the new”. Fall fashion is my favorite; boots, trench coats, cozy hats. I’m in love with layers and how creative people get with their wardrobe. How would you describe your style this season?
Food and Beverage
We can’t go without mentioning THE most important part of fall. The seasonal food and drinks! Clean out your kitchen pantry and pack it with all the fall goodies. From spiced tea and coffee to pumpkin flavored.. everything. This is a great time to try out new recipes and share them with your family and friends. What are your favorite fall dishes? If you need a little inspiration check out what Trader Joes has in store! They never disappoint.
Happy Fall!
