How Far Is Da Baby Gonna Take It? Rapper’s Response To Controversial Statements Doesn’t Make Things Any Better

Da Baby is making headlines again…but not for the right reasons.

The rapper, born Jonathan Kirk, speaks out after facing backlash following comments made during his performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami on Sunday (July 25).

If bringing out Tory Lanez during his set wasn’t enough, the rapper took things further with some controversial statements made about HIV/AIDS during the show.

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will make you die in 2 [or] 3 weeks put a cellphone light in the air.”

After fans took to Twitter to call him out for the insensitive remarks,  the “Bop” rapper took to Instagram with a video in an attempt to clear things up and share the love that he has for his gay fans.

“Even my gay fans don’t have AIDS stupid ass n*gga,” he said during the video. “They take care of themselves they ain’t no nasty gay n*ggas, they ain’t no junkies.”

He also went on to tell folks on the Internet not to disturb his fans with their suggestions on what his comments meant.

“Don’t be disturbing my gay fans and making them uncomfortable in their skin… You ain’t supposed to get it, it ain’t supposed to translate…”
