Cassie deals with Charles getting a surprise visit from his half-brother, Travis. Shes already angry that Charles is not taking school and college applications seriously, and when Travis gets him involved in trouble, things get worse. Wes blames Charles but changes his mind when he sees that Charles fixed their car and has a real talent, so pushes him to figure out his future. Eddie attempts to get closer to Tay by asking him to help assemble a new surround-sound system. Tay agrees but is sidetracked when he sees Trey Songz is in town for a singing contest where the winner gets to spend the day with Trey. He blows off their bonding session and enters the contest and wins! He spends the day with Trey, but even Trey can tell something is on Tays mind. When he hears what happened he encourages Tay to remember that family is everything. Tay shows up with Treys guys to help assemble the system and tells Eddie they can stay home to watch a movie on it that night. Spencer lets Eddie know that Tay turned down an invite to Treys concert for that so Eddie and the family join Tay at the concert and get to watch Tay perform with one of his idols. Eddies dad, Spencer, surprises the family with a visit. Hes reconnected with Ms. Hammond while in rehab for his alcoholism and cant wait to connect with her, so invites her to dinner. She shows up, much to his dismay, with her new fiancé, Deacon Jones. An all-out battle starts through a game that the Deacon desperately wants to win, so much so that Mrs. Hammond sees his true colors. She breaks up with him and returns to tell Spencer her true feelings for him. Jenn is getting increasingly sicker and is taken to the hospital when the family returns from the concert.
