Today, women are often bombarded with images of what it means to be beautiful or see manufactured photos of what others expect beauty standards to represent for women. Then, at times, women may not be fully happy with themselves and turn to cosmetic surgery and procedures to enhance their beauty or bodies to gain confidence. Regardless of their reasons, women want to feel beautiful in their skin.
The pressure to look beautiful only seems to increase as we get older, but that would not seem to apply to some of the fab, fit, and fabulous Black celebrities that are aging beautifully and gracefully right before our eyes with no problems to the naked eyes. Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and ages, but these four Black women make women over 50 look amazing. These women killing the game include Gabrielle Union (50), Tracee Ellis Ross (50), Cynthia Bailey (55), and Angela Bassett (64).
With age, also comes maturity and wisdom, so all these women have gained so much experience in understanding their roles in life, love, success, and failure. It is no question that Union, Ross, Bailey, and Bassett know all too well how their lives in their 20s and 30s have transformed them into the well-rounded and learned individuals they’ve come to be now in their older years. It also allows us as fans of their crafts in acting (for Union, Ross, and Bassett) and modeling (for Bailey) to see how far they’ve come and improved as well. That, in itself, is beautiful as well and allows for growth and grace in their careers, too.
This specific group of women are a dynamic group because they are all superwomen—each with a big personality, career, fan base, and zeal for life. On top of all of those wonderful qualities, these Black women look half their age while doing it.
Both Union and Ross still work out three and four times a week if you follow them on social media. They really care about physical fitness and good health and just turned fifty together because they share the same birthdays. It also helps to be funny, silly, and have a good time, too.
Bailey is just as beautiful as ever and will never lose her ability to model and be elegant and run a runway. Some things are just natural and born for you to do. Her skin and bone structure are still immaculate. Even with her time on the show The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she remains stunning and as dignified as possible.
Bassett—she is the epitome of a Goddess. While she may be the oldest out of the women listed here in this group, she still looks as fresh-faced, strong, and vibrant as a 30-year-old woman. Her body is toned, her skin soft and supple, and her smile bright. Her acting roles showcase a woman full of vitality and strength.
All of these women are naturally beautiful and aging gracefully. It is apparent that their beauty isn’t fading anytime soon because their melanin is rich and supple with some type of Black girl magic.
