The culture mourns its favorite reality TV husband!
Gregg Leakes lost his battle to colon cancer at the age of 66. He first stole our hearts as the husband of NeNe Leakes on the hit reality television series, “Real Housewives Of Atlanta.” He would soon become a force in the culture known for his gentle spirit and powerful words of wisdom.
According to the family publicist and lifelong friend, Ernest Dukes, Gregg transitioned peacefully in his sleep.
“Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart,” he said in an official statement. “After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones, and wife Nene Leakes.”
During a visit to her lounge earlier this week, NeNe told guests her husband’s condition had worsened.

“My husband is transitioning to the other side,” said the RHOA alum.
He was first diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer in 2018 and had been in remission for the past two years. Earlier this summer, NeNe announced the cancer had returned.
“You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now,” she continued. “We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business. So, when people approach and say, ‘You’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday,’ my husband is at home dying. I don’t want to say, ‘Happy birthday.’”
The Leakes originally tied the knot in 1997 before a brief divorce in 2011. They remarried in 2013 and together they share a 12-year-old son Bennett. He also leaves behind five children from a previous marriage, Damien, Daryl, Katrina, Dexter, and Delton.
Upon hearing the news, fans and celebs took to social media to share their favorite memories of Gregg.
