Here’s Why Forbes Says Kanye West Is NOT The Richest Black Person in The U.S.

Not so fast, Mr. West.

Forbes disputes recent claims that Kanye West’s net worth is close to $7 billion.

Multiple reports credited Bloomberg who noted that the 43-year-old rapper had a combined value of $4.7 billion. Coupled with additional assets, his net worth is an estimated $6.6 billion, a figure that would make him the richest Black person in the U.S.

Forbes staff writer Madeline Berg, however, says otherwise.

“West’s wildly optimistic approach to his net worth mirrors the approach used by Donald Trump, who insists the value of his name be included in any net worth estimate,” wrote Berg. “Trump, who we value at $2.5, says his brand has an intrinsic value, regardless of actual revenue. West and his camp are making a similar argument for businesses attached to the Yeezy name.”

The global media company suggests that the Yeezy Gap deal is at $0 due as that no clothing has yet been made available for purchase.

Kanye West has yet to respond to Forbes’s recent claims on his net worth.
