All superheroes don’t wear capes!
Young Thug and Gunna were quite the hometown heroes this weekend. They funded bail for about 30 people stuck in Fulton County Jail on minor charges.
The Atlanta natives wanted to help inmates who couldn’t afford release on their own.
“We just woke up and went to the jail with the lawyer and the DAs and the prosecutors and the bonding companies and just got as many people as we can out,” said Thugger.
Fulton County Jail is a well-known facility in the Atlanta area and not for good reason. Earlier this year it was reported the facility is over capacity by an estimated 400 inmates. The resulting conditions have been described as “some of the worst” Atlanta councilman Michael Bond has ever seen.

Released inmates also received a home-cooked meal and reunited with their families. Footage from their release will be used in an upcoming music video and the pair have planned to do this again in the future.
It’s all part of the larger goal to inspire others to step up and help!
Earlier this month, rapper Unfoonk spoke about how his younger brother Young Thug played a huge role in helping him get released after a life sentence.
