“I Was Afraid If I Told Anyone He’d Kill Me” Fitness Trainer Shaun T Opens Up About Childhood Abuse

Fitness trainer Shaun T revealed a shocking truth in a recent Tik Tok video.

The “Insanity” trainer exposed a secret from his childhood in a Tik Tok video trend. While lip-syncing to MIKA’s “Grace Kelly”, in a series of video captions, Shaun T shared that he was repeatedly molested by his stepfather during his childhood.

“When I was 8 years old we used to have fun movie nights in our basement. We used to have to take turns running upstairs to the kitchen to get snacks during the commercials,” said Shaun T in the video. “One night when it was my cousin’s turn to get the snacks, my stepfather asked me if I had ever frenched kissed anyone. I said no so he decided to teach me how to French kiss. That same night he tried to have intercourse with me.”

“He repeatedly molested me weekly until I was 12 years old. I ended up moving out of my childhood home away from my mother and brother when I was 14 years old,” he continued.  “I was afraid if I told anyone he’d kill me, so I didn’t tell my mother until I was 21 and suffered years of PTSD until I went through years of therapy and learned how to love myself!”

Shaun T further explained why he decided to share the traumatic experience with the world.

“If you ever wondered why I trademarked the slogan “DIG DEEPER” this is it,” read his Instagram caption. “I was once asked, ‘Don’t you think you’re sharing too much?’ My answer: ‘Don’t you think there are too many people not sharing enough?’ #throwbackthursday #digdeeper”.

Shaun T’s confession sparked an outpour of support in his Instagram comments from fans and the public including Natasha Bedingfield and Sherrie Shepherd.
