Last night (August 19), Harris made history by becoming the first Black and South Asian woman to accept a major party’s vice-presidential nomination.
During Day 3 of the Democratic National Convention, the California senator gave a historic speech that spoke on the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, racism in America, the current coronavirus pandemic, and more.
A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a Howard University grad, Harris also used her speech to give a nod to her fellow HBCU and Divine 9 brothers and sisters.
