Nick Cannon is taking a much-needed break from the bedroom!
When he’s not making headlines regarding the possibility of taking over Wendy Williams’ time slot, Nick Cannon is trending for his pending “no sex” policy.
Cannon received internet criticism after it was revealed that he fathered four children in less than a year with women whom he’s not married to, or in a relationship with. He now has a total of seven children.
To fight back against the critics, Cannon took to his podcast, “Cannon’s Class,” where he told JT from The City Girls that having a multitude of children from different women was “on purpose” after she advised him to be less reckless.
He also sat down with “The Breakfast Club” to explain why monogamy is not optional for him.
“That’s a Eurocentric concept when you think about the idea that you’re supposed to have this one person for the rest of your life,” he told the radio hosts. “Really, that’s just to classify property when you think about it. When you go into that mindset…just the idea that a man should have one woman — we shouldn’t have anything. I have no ownership over this person.”
Cannon also mentioned that the monogamous mentality has never been his lane.
“I’ve never subscribed to that mentality,” he further shared. “I understand the institution of marriage, but if we go back to what that’s about, that was to classify property,” he continued. “One father gave another man his daughter for land. I don’t want ownership over anybody. I don’t have ownership over any of the mothers. We created a beautiful entity.”

The “Wild’N Out” creator also shut down any speculation that any of the mothers of his children weren’t aware of his lifestyle.
“I’m not going around like, ‘Who am I gonna impregnate next,'” he also added that he believes that “the woman is always the one who leads and makes decisions” in the hierarchy of the nuclear family.
Now, with a change of heart, the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” actor shared that he is currently celibate during a recent appearance on “Drink Champs.”
“I’m going to see if I could make it to 2022,” he told hosts DJ EFEN and N.O.R.E. “I’m trying to chill out. I’m kind of stepping away, getting focused, going within, getting my celibacy on. I have enough children, enough frolicking, I’m good right now.”

In October of 2020, Cannon was still open to the thought of more children.
“God willing. If God sees it that way, then that’s what I’m going to keep doing,” he said.
Currently, he shares 10-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey as well as a 3-year-old son, Golden Sagon, and a 10-month-old daughter, Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell. Cannon welcomed another set of twins, Zion and Zillion, on June 17th with Abby de la Rossa, and a week later his youngest child, Zen was born.
It definitely sounds like a great idea for Nick Cannon to take a step back and focus on his celibacy during this time.
