Is Last Year’s Anti-Semitism Scandal Scaring Off A-List Celebs? Nick Cannon In Talks With Ex-Wife Mariah Carey To Help Boost Bookings

Will Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey team up again?

Last July the entertainer faced backlash after he allegedly made anti-Semitic comments during an episode of his Cannon Class podcast.

“It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people,” said Cannon. “When we are the same people who [Jewish people] want to be. That’s our birthright.”

After the comments, both MTV and Viacom distanced themselves from the “Wild’N Out” creator until he began to educate himself by meeting with rabbis. He also apologized for the comments that were made.

“I hurt an entire community and it pained me to the core, I thought it couldn’t get any worse,” he expressed. “Then I watched my own community call me a sell-out for apologizing. Goodnight. Enjoy Earth.”

In the midst of the controversy, Cannon’s new talk show premiere was delayed almost a year.

As he gears up to launch the show in the fall, he’s finding trouble booking A-list celebrity names because they don’t want to be associated with him and his previous comments.

“[The show’s producers are] having a bit of a hard time finding the guest it needs to launch within the fall [because publicists are] worried about putting big names on his show because of the scandal,” said an insider according to “The Jasmine Brand.”

Due to the pushback, Cannon is reportedly asking his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, to appear on the show and get things rolling.

Can he pull this off?
