“That’s Impossible” Nick Cannon Addresses Rumors That He Wants To Rekindle Flame With Ex-Wife Mariah Carey

Does Nick Cannon want that old thing back?

The entertainer sampled a track from his ex-wife, Mariah Carey in a new track titled “Alone,” which people believe could be a shot at trying to rekindle an old flame.

Dropped on Valentine’s Day, the song features a sample from Carey’s 1990 smash “Love Takes Time,” which Cannon notes is a personal favorite.

“I say I’m cool when I know I miss it/I’d trade it all for the case if I could have you back/If I could go back where we started at,” said Cannon in the song. Despite speculations that the song eludes to reconnecting with Carey, the 41-year-old says “that’s impossible.”

During his talk show today (Wednesday),  Cannon explained that the song will be featured on his upcoming mixtape which he says is “real, raw, and personal.”

“The song is really about reflection,” he recalled. “You realize ‘Man I really messed up.’ I had probably the greatest situation, I had my dream girl and I messed it up.”

Together, Cannon and Carey are the parents of 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The former couple was married from 2008 to 2016.

Recently, Cannon has appeared in the headlines after he fathered four children within a 14-month span in 2021. Overall he is the father to seven children with four mothers and is expecting an eighth child with model Bre Tiesi.
