Ready or not, here they come!
The legendary hip-hop trio known to the world as the Fugees will reunite for the first time in 15 years to mark the anniversary of their 1996 classic, “The Score.”
Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel will be back together again as the group sets out the celebrate the album’s 25th anniversary starting tomorrow (Sept. 22nd) during a special gig in New York City at an undisclosed location. The show will be filmed and broadcasted this Saturday (Sept. 25th) at the Global Citizen Live event.
“The Fugees have a complex but impactful history,” said Hill in an official statement. “I wasn’t even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention. I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example for reconciliation for the world.”

After the Fugees took over the music industry in the early Nineties with the release of their debut album, “Blunted on Reality,” it wasn’t long before the classic that is “The Score” became an instant hit. It was released just two years after the debut album and featured hits like “Killing Me Softly,” “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La.”
The group ultimately parted ways after tensions between the members ran high. After one last single, “Take It Easy,” in 2005, the Fugees officially split and talks of reconciliation seemed far and few and even out of the question due to the scorned relationships…until now!
Jean, shares his excitement for the group’s decision to reconnect.
“As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music we would be a movement,” he continued in the statement. “We would be a voice for the unheard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together.”
The North American leg of the tour kicks off in Chicago on November 2nd and will conclude on November 28th in Washington, D.C.
