Talk about a dream come true!
Racquel Palmer’s $2K investment to land a lead role in Tyler Perry hit a jackpot.
Since the conception of Tyler Perry Studios back in 2006 and the grand opening in 2019, Perry has given new opportunities to up-and-coming actors and social media influencers for television and film projects.
Actress Racquel Palmer made a risky attempt to gain Perry’s attention when she purchased a billboard for a reported $2,000 dollars in 2019. Palmer now has a lead role in his upcoming series “All The Queens Men.” The actress, who is no stranger to acting, has numerous credits, including Perry’s own “Sistas.”
Palmer’s move may have been costly, but it paid off. The actress’ billboard, located in Atlanta, read: “Attention Mr. Perry, Racquel Bailey is your next leading lady.” It also contained her social media handles and website.

However, Palmer’s choice of being noticed by the media mogul didn’t come without question. Perry took to his social media telling Palmer to “save her money” because it wasn’t the best way to get his attention. He also directed his message to all interested actors that “the audition is FREE!”
He continued to encourage the eager actress at the end of his IG post saying, “And by the way, you were great in THE NIGHT OF! It was my favorite show a couple of years ago. I ALREADY SAW YOU!! So just audition and keep your money!! Again, I appreciate your effort, but that’s not the way to work for me. God bless you dreamer. I have no doubt you will make it one day!”
In a recent interview with TMZ, Palmer shared she’s the lead on Perry’s new show, “All The Queens Men,” set to premiere next month.
The show will be helmed by “America’s Next Top Model” alum Eva Marcille who works in the nightclub industry centered around a male exotic dance club. Marcille takes on the role of “Marilyn ‘Madam’ DeVille.”
“It is hot, it is steamy,” Palmer said to TMZ. “I play Blue, who is her head of security. I pick up any loose ends, I’m extremely loyal to Madam and anything that she needs to be done.”
When asked about her exchanges with Perry since the billboard, Palmer explained, “We’ve met in person because ‘Sistas,’ I did one or two of that, and we are filming the first season at Tyler Perry Studios…we never spoke of the billboard!”
Created by actor Christian Keyes, “All The Queens Men” is slated for a Sep. 9 release on streaming service BET+.
