[WATCH] Will Smith Reunited The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Cast & Paid Tribute To The Late James Avery

It felt like the ’90s all over again last night! The cast of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” blessed fans with a reunion during the season finale of Will Smith’s Snapchat show, “Will From Home.”

Castmembers Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Viv), and Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks) joined Smith for the reunion and they paid tribute to the beloved Uncle Phil (James Avery) who died in 2014 from complications from open-heart surgery.

It was definitely a family reunion as they reminisced on the show and how much the show meant to generations of kids and adults. After 20+ years, people still call the actors by their iconic character names….but are they over it? “I get really annoyed that everybody wanted to do the handshake,” said DJ Jazzy Jeff, but “besides that I’m good.”

The link-up also revealed that it was actually Ribeiro who convinced Smith to name his character after himself.

“It was such a deep insight that you had,” Smith told his former co-star. “You said, ‘Because people are going to call you that for the rest of your life!'”

“Will From Home” was launched this month to bring his self-isolation to the public with episodes featuring him hanging out in his garage during the coronavirus pandemic. Smith has talked to family, special guests like Tyra Banks and everyday people who are also practicing social distancing by staying at home.

The second part of the finale is now available for streaming on Snapchat’s discover page.
